The visitors to Ranakpur’s favorite boutique hotel, Mana Hotel, can now have even more fun during their stay. The hotel has added a trek to Kumbhalgarh fort and a handicrafts workshop to its already long list of activities.

The trek to Kumbhalgarh starts from the forest outpost of Thandi Beri, some 15 kilometers from the hotel. The 9 kilometer route is covered in 3 hours and the last 3 kilometers of the route involve a steep climb across a hill face, to reach the fort. The trek route provides excellent photographic opportunities and  a chance to observe local fauna like antelopes, wild boars and peafowls from close range. The route passes through Kumbhalgarh National Forest Reserve and a forest guard accompanies the guests on the way to provide directions and to ensure safety. A Mana representative carrying various refreshments for the route, is also present.

The visitors seeking the thrill of wilderness and physical activity can choose the trek while those with a cultural bent can opt for the handicrafts workshop. This workshop allows the guests a peek into the day to day lives of Rajasthani artisans and give them a chance to discover the rich handicrafts heritage of the state. In true Rajasthani style, the guests cover the last stretch to the workshop in a camel cart. The guests are encouraged to get their hands dirty and make their own products to experience the manufacturing process of the products. The workshop is organised with Camel Charisma, a social enterprise aimed at saving this unique desert animal from extinction.
