Home to the second largest man made fort wall in the world, Kumbhalgarh is an increasingly popular choice for tourists coming to Rajasthan. Located 3,600 feet above sea level, this hill station offers a quiet retreat to traveller's looking for a quick weekend break. Having been declared a national forest reserve in 2012, the Kumbhalgarh wildlife sanctuary also offers a thrilling wildlife experience to the tourists.

To Visit

Kumbhalgarh is the second highest hill station in Rajasthan after Mt. Abu offering great weather throughout the year. Maximum tourists visit Kumbhalgarh during the festivals such as Holi, Janmashtmi & Diwali. Apart from this, the school vacation times in the summers and winters also see movement of tourists. Monsoon is an often overlooked season to visit Kumbhalgarh & Rajasthan but we encourage you to visit during this period. The sites seen during this period will leave you asking for more. No air conditioning is needed in Kumbhalgarh for 10 out of 12 months a year. Owing to its altitude, the winter months get chilly and its advisable to carry woollens from October to March.

To Reach

Geographically, Kumbhalgarh is located in a central and accessible region of Southern Rajasthan. The bustling airports at Udaipur & Jodhpur are 2.5 & 3.5 hours away from Kumbhalgarh respectively. The closest railway station at Falna is just 2 hours away. The drive to Kumbhalgarh from Jaipur and Ahmedabad is spectacular and can be comfortably covered in 6 to 7 hours.

New Golden Triangle - Udaipur, Ranakpur, Kumbhalgarh!

With Udaipur established as a mainstay in the tourist circuit of Rajasthan, both Kumbhalgarh and Ranakpur are also gaining in importance. In fact, these 3 cities together offer a nice little circuit which has unique experiences lined up for the travelers. The Ranakpur Jain Temple, The Kumbhalgarh Fort and the National forest reserve are a treat for domestic and foreign tourists alike.

A visit to Kumbhalgarh fort; the birth place of Maharana Pratap is incomplete without a visit to site of the great battle of Haldighati and the final resting place of his steed - Chetak.

Dilwara temples of Mt. Abu & the Jain Temple of Ranakpur also within driving distance from Kumbhalgarh.

Chittor Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage site is a 3.5 hour drive from Kumbhalgarh. Although Kumbhalgarh Fort has the longer wall, Chittor fort is one of the largest forts in India.

The revered Shrinath ji temple at Nathwara is just 50 km away from Kumbhalgarh. The temple town of Nathdwara also offer’s traveller’s some delicious street food apart from some local handicrafts and art. The famous Pichwai painting are a product of Nathdwara as well.
