29-5-2021: Mana Hotels is pleased to share the progress in the development of the Tiger Reserve in the Ranakpur region of the Kumbhalgarh National Forest reserve of Southern Rajasthan. The site of the reserve located about 6 km from the Ranakpur Jain Temple is located on the highway itself making it easily accessible to the tourists travelling between Udaipur & Jodhpur. The total area under development for this reserve is 211 hectares with a perimeter wall having a length of 6.3 km. In anticipation of the water needs of the proposed animal ecosystem in this reserve, the forest officials have prepared an artificial water body with a ramped approach for the animals. The forest department has taken approvals for construction and operation of a veterinary hospital to cater to the needs of the animals in the future.

On 26th May 2021, during a joint visit to the location of the proposed tiger reserve by Mr. Kishan Choudhary, Assistant Manager Operations, Mana Hotels and Mr. Ishwar Singh, Forest Guard, Rajasthan Government, Mr. Ishwar Singh commented that the plan is to start bringing in herbivores animals into this reserve by November of 2021. While these animals get acclamatized to the surroundings, the process of taking approvals to move tigers into the reserve will move forward. He also mentioned that the work on the permissions for the reserve has slowed down due to the pandemic and he is hopeful that the pace will pick up in the coming months.
“This tiger reserve has the potential to transform this region of Ranakpur, already famous for the Ranakpur Jain temple and its natural beauty into a tourism hotspot similar to destinations such as Sawai Madhopur and Sariska,” said Mr. Kishan Choudhary of Mana Hotels.
