Mount Abu is a hill station in Rajasthan placed on a rocky plateau in the Aravalli ranges. With a lake, rich forest reserve, river, and waterfalls this place is blessed with a pleasantly cool climate throughout the year. The property has a large cricket ground which makes it an ideal getaway for family picnics; social events like large scale wedding celebrations have also been accommodated here. Come here to take a break from the screen time and spend time with your loved ones, the views of the landscape can upend all other plans. This place was constructed 135 years ago and was at the disposal of the British militia and later royals of the state, open as a club for dinner parties and balls. The 40 rooms and 2 suites are not steeped in modern luxury, but they have a cosy vibe. The common sitting room is reminiscent of a lord’s hunting lodge with animal trophies fixated on the walls. This place is best suited for social and corporate events. A colonial library and games room are well stocked to while away your time. This place is a heritage hotel with a heart; situated far from commercial blocks, it is a peaceful resort for leisure time with your folks and friends. The hotel has air rifle shooting equipment, bicycles for hire and can arrange treks upon the rustic jungle’s uncharted paths for an enigmatic experience in the wild. This is part of the WelcomHeritage Hotels chain, a quaint and enchanting cottage to stay in; with 10 rooms for guests, 5 of which are newly renovated. Couples would love the discretion this property ensues, as there are a limited number of rooms, making this an ideal honeymoon getaway in the hills. Not built for the larger than life weddings though it is perfect as a retreat for multigeneration staycations. Renovated in parts the property has a warm atmosphere with wooden flooring and furniture that signifies a British colonial influence; most of the place is preserved, highlighting its original beauty. This heritage house has a vintage spell cast on it, with antique pieces and portraits from afore, preserved for those who would love to lose track of time in a bygone era.

Mount Abu is home to several colonial legacies that the British utilized in this summer capital; post-independence local royals had at their disposal. Connaught House as the name suggests has imperial footprints though of a smaller note; this bungalow was later acquired by Indian royals that transformed this home into a heritage hotel. Untouched by contemporary and modern designs, the dining room for guests dons the 19th-century adobes of an officer’s stateroom. We recommend the cottage room for an authentic experience of the historical kind. About ten minutes from the lake and other sights to see; traversing on foot from here to explore Mount Abu is all the good exercise you need!

The views from this property are a delight, with the clouds leaning in to meet halfway. Spending time in the hills with your loved ones, while staying at a century-old manor hotel, can be a welcome break from the busy city life. One can appreciate the beautiful Indian heritage sites by staying in these local small hotels rather than those affiliated with international chains. It has been observed that the smaller hotels go out of their way to serve you while they support local communities with their efforts. We only suggest the hotel make a few tweaks on their homepage for guest convenience and information. The hotel has been in operation since 2001 and is spread over an acre.

This property is blessed with a fantastic location though it is a little further away from the commercial centre. This place has amazing mountain and valley views from almost every room; making your mornings a tad more delightful. The premier rooms are spacious with balconies, allowing you to appreciate the flora and fauna on this hilly terrain. We suggest this category is more suitable for staycations than the simpler classic rooms. Overall 69 rooms have sufficient lodging space to host large wedding parties or corporate events.

Since it has been newly renovated, it offers a more comfortable stay than other resorts in its price range. With a rooftop swimming pool, the views down below from up here are divine and would make for swoon-worthy pictures! Ask for the hotel to arrange bird watching and trekking in the jungle; it has private access to the forest as mentioned on their website. It is not mentioned if they support a dormitory for driving staff if guests are travelling with one. There is one banquet hall on the hotel premises for entertainment purposes.
